(For new reader and those who request 好友请求, pleaseread my 公告 first)

Some unique western foods that I like and have no counterpart in Chinese  cuisine to my knowledge. All can be easily prepared at home and not expensive as haute cuisine in high priced world famous restaurants

Melon and Prosciutto: This involve eating sweet honeydew or cantaloupe melon with  slightly salted and very thinly sliced ham. It has a very unique taste suitable as a   breakfast item or appetizer dish

Popcorn with buffer: This is typical movie theater food in the US.But with microwave  oven you can enjoy this snack even more lying in bed watching a movie on your  wide  screen 70 inch HDTV.

Steak medium, rare or medium rare: Good meat is best enjoyed lightly cooked with only salt and pepper

Spaghetti with pesto sauce: This dish rivals Chinese 炸醬麵 and I liked  it just as  much.  And it is vegetarian with no meat.

I invite other ScienceNet readers to submit their non-Chinese favorites so I may try to sample them.
